24 hours out from Tonsillectomy and feeling good
Hey! I know it’s early days but I had my Tonsillectomy and I’m feeling really good. I was dreading the operation after reading a lot of horror stories online and on this thread.
I’m expecting it’s going to get worse before it gets better but so far, so good. I have no problems eating or drinking and have managed to eat 2 ice creams, pasta and a couple slices of Pizza today.
I have been taking Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Codeine Phosphate and can eat and swallow with no complication and very little pain. I can also drink a pint of water with no trouble.
I did wonder if most people could do this at first or if this is unusual? My tonsils were enlarged pre-surgery as I have suffered with several Quinsy’s over the years with my most recent recovery just 3 weeks ago.
Interested to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience first 24 hours? Or if this was nothing like your experience?
Sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging, like I said Im sure the worst is yet to come. But just wanted to share a really positive experience for anyone who may be anxious about an upcoming surgery.
