Can you take photos of bank statements via smartphone to provide the mortgage advisor.

Since my nan has gifted me some of the deposit I have been asked by my mortgage advisor to obtain bank statements from her for the mortgage application. She lives far away and telling my nan anything over the phone is a nightmare as she could've just downloaded them online, but she's so tech illiterate. Anyway she managed to get me copies of the statements and took photos of them and sent them to me via WhatsApp. Would this be valid to use? Trust me, I have tried to show her to download them 🙄
