Question about putting animals down.

My daughter loves animals and is so great with them. She’s a few years away from graduating high school and is lacking career ideas and motivation. So I suggested this but was worried about being sad putting the old ones down. Because I know I would be crying every time I saw someone else crying. How often do you have to do that? Like per week? Does it become easier for those of you that it did effect in the beginning? And if it is pretty common to have to do them often, I’d love any other career suggestions around animals that we haven’t thought of. Farmer, zoo, this is all I’ve thought of.
