Why don't governments harness ocean water to fight drought and wild fires.
Every year wildfires destroy tons of property and threaten lives. Drought is another issue with dam's, lakes, and other fresh water reservoirs around the country. This issue affects nation states all over the world. Why don't we just pump ocean water, filter said water, and distribute this water through a mega-project network of pipes and sprinklers or fire hydrants that span all over the country's drought and wildfire risk zones? The pipes can be above ground or below ground. Engineering advances in this field could help us find better solutions to deal with getting water to a specific region, but for now the old ways of pipes and stations will still work for the task at hand. Stations to treat the water and maintain the pumps and pipes can be built. To areas inaccessible we can strive to engineer a solution to place infrastructure such as roads, pipes, tunnels, or digs underground so that we can safely deploy water en mass to any area that has a risk of severe drought or wildfire. If we as a nation can build a mega network worth of gas pipes, water pipes, electric utility lines, and roads all over the country then surely we can engineer a massive network of water pipes used to distribute water to refill lakes, or put out a wildfire, or prevent a mega wildfire from forming due to being able to flood an area with massive amounts of water due to said infrastructure in place needed to be capable of doing this. Sprinklers of a large size can be engineered to distribute water over a large surface area to maintain water satiation over drought burdened areas. We can engineer new drones that are unmanned flight vehicles that are specifically designed to water large swaths of areas. These drones can carry water and help distribute water over zones where a wildfire is occurring, or be used to water other areas. Imagine an army of thousands of drones flying unmanned over placed of drought laden areas aiding in watering the area and collecting data. Using UAV technology can help us fight wildfires and prevent drought. While the drone is flying it can collect data on drought conditions to be used for analysis so as to maintain the landmass of America and prevent wildfire and drought. Furthermore, we can utilize drones to fly 24/7 over skies along with space satellites to monitor drought conditions for risk of wildfires and spot flare-ups before those said flare-ups turn into mega dangerous hard to deal with wild fires.
If we can build tunnels through mountains and put man on a moon then surely we can harness the world's oceans to benefit mankind and forever end the plague of wildfires, drought of any kind, and refill fresh water reservoirs all around the country and globe.
Lastly, we can turn the desert into a lush tropical rain forest oasis due to engineering massive amounts of water to be distributed over a long period of time to a desert biome. We'd essentially be turning the 'water into wine'. With massive amounts of water from the ocean and the arctic regions from the north and south pole we could harness enough water to turn deserts into lush biomes suitable for people to inhabit and grow crops on.
We have bad droughts in desert areas in China's continent. We have Australia suffering wildfires and drought on occasion. America's California which is located ironically next to the world's biggest water source, the ocean, suffers wildfires and some catastrophic every year. Brazil's protected rain forest had a wildfire that wiped out precious natural resources. All of this can be avoided by managing our planet via pipes, water treatment stations, pumps, roads or tunnels to access the rugged areas, drones to survey for fire along with satellites, and of course man power from the nation state itself to man, build, and maintain such complex networks of engineering.
It might take billions or even trillions of dollars. It might take decades to fully establish and implement, but if all nations all over the world learn to harness the world's oceans and succeed in applying these ideas then it'll change the world in terms of how we fight wild fires, deal with drought, refill fresh water reserves of any nature, and terra form desert biomes into lush forests.
It seems our politicians never bring up mega projects regarding harnessing the ocean water for mankind's benefit. Where's the zeal and passion of our leaders? The president of the United States and congress should work together to form a mega project solution to permanently stop wildfires from happening ever again in our generation. We have the technology to do this. Pump water, filter and treat water as needed, then distribute massive amounts of water where water is wanted or needed. problem solved. It costs money and time, but it can be done. Remember World War 2? Mega projects have been done in the past with transportation. We built the interstate highways due to needing access to transportation. We spent a lot of effort in building the nation's infrastructure over many decades. We can build a super mega large water network system consisting of pipes, roads, utility power lines, stations, and newly engineered drones numbering in the thousand with the industrial complex of America and America's current age of reason with know how. In a matter of decades we can finish this project and prevent wildfires from harming mankind in the United States of America ever again. Drought and water rations would be a thing of the past if we could fully harness and deploy the world's vast reservoir of water which is the ocean.
