Why are people so mean for no reason?
I've been chronically unwell for almost 3 years now, since October 2020, with so many health problems that it's unbelievable. I've dealt with one-sided neuropathy, memory loss, head dizziness and pressure, sinus inflammation, nausea, headaches, neck stiffness, muscle twitching, etc etc etc and I still have no diagnosis. I've posted about it so much on here for almost two years now. My mother died about 3 months after I first fell ill, and I wasn't able to spend time with her the way I wanted to. I just had a dream where I was picking up her earrings and jewelry off the ground and I woke up in the middle of it and I was crying. I think I have pretty severe PTSD from the whole period of my life, and the health problems being a constant reminder of it doesn't help.
My mother died of endometrial cancer but also severe cirrhosis. One night she passed out and vomited blood and I had to lift her up from choking on the blood. She was diagnosed during her stay at the ICU. This happened a literal week after I had a mental breakdown due to OCD triggers. Really just awful.
I am not sure if I caught COVID or some sort of infection, viral or bacterial, or attempting to go back on an SSRI (Lexapro) at a 10mg dosage after a cold turkey from a high dosage (30mg) that I took for OCD was the cause. The NP I saw was pretty unethical and awful looking back, as she didn't change me to another medication when I told her it wasn't helping my anxiety or OCD, and refused a refill in June of 2020 because my webcam didn't work for the telehealth session. She had moved from my state (Rhode Island) to Texas in 2015 but kept clients via telehealth. After I got sick and told her I stopped the Lexapro because I thought it was the cause, she refused to med manage until I saw a therapist, and then when I did, she refused to med manage, saying "We both agreed you should see somebody locally". She never properly discharged me or just said "I think your issues are something I cannot help with and you should see somebody else". She made me waste time finding a therapist while my mom was dying. I called her up one day saying I was so scared about my health problems and my mother's cancer, and I'd like any sort of advice or support, she called back and said I "woke her up" and "I should have been to therapy long before this". She had never said I needed to see a therapist in the 6 years I saw her. She advertises herself as both a med manager and a therapist. She was just so awful for no reason.
Since dealing with her, I have been trying to find out if I would have a legal case against her, as it seems she acted grossly unethically and possibly negligent. I filed complaints with the RI DOH and Texas Board of Nursing and neither took action. I've asked law firms in my state but been given differing answers such as "I'd need proof of a permanent injury", "You need an expert witness to corroborate your claims", and "Your complaint to the RI DOH would have to be valid for you to have a case". None have taken my case, so I think the costs compounded with the little chance of success is why.
I've posted a lot on reddit about my situation, including in legal subreddits. About 2 months ago, I got into an argument with somebody on the most popular legal subreddit, with somebody who has a history of going into posts regarding medical negligence and riling up the OP by implying they're lying for money. I was banned without a warning by one of the mods (Who I won't name, but is infamous for being the worst one), because I called the person a "asshole". When I DMd the mods about it, the same mod that banned me said they "didn't want to subject our users" to that language. When I pointed out she used the same exact word to a user, she got upset and muted me from messaging the mods for a month.
I contacted the mods yesterday, explaining that I apologize for my actions and would like to use the subreddit again, because I am worried the statute of limitations is running out for my case, and would like advice. I was told I had recently "tried to cover up my tracks" because I deleted my comments. I don't remember doing that, but if I did, it was when it happened, because the argument was embarrassing. How would I be covering up my tracks if I just said I did what I did? Again, I was muted, and they were condensing and rude. They said to contact a law firm locally, and that I wouldn't be unbanned. Because I called a troll user an asshole.
Why are people like this? Why are the mods of that subreddit such assholes? Isn't that subreddit infamous for bad advice, and that no real lawyers would use it? Don't the mods get stuff wrong all the time, and they're mainly cops, and not lawyers? Why are they even allowed to run a legal subreddit when they're not even in the profession?
I got so upset about being accused of being a sneak and a liar that I cried. Why are people like that? What do they get out of it? My life's been so terrible for 3 years. I have so many regrets. I'm sick all the time. My mom died and I was too sick to spend time with her. I have the memories of an awful medical provider with me forever, and she'll get away with doing that most likely. I don't know what to do. I'm so scared every day my health problems are permanent. I have constant nerve issues in my face neck and genitals on the left side. I woke up today and my upper body felt inflamed badly. I still have emotional blunting. My memory is still pretty bad. Why the fuck do people have to make it worse by being little petty tyrants on a subreddit?
