Need some help with a character's backstory...

I'm trying to come up with a part of my character's background, but I'm still new to DnD and am not familiar with a lot of the standard religious groups you come across in a campaign.

I'm designing a cannibalistic human ranger, and what part of their backstory to include their village being burned by a church after she ended up making her village addicted to eating humanoid's meat.

Can somebody help me pick out a church to have done that?
