How important is hygiene?

I know this sounds like a stupid question because people put such an emphasis on but I’m my experience, there are alot of people that don’t have good hygiene (and still is) whether Bad odor, bad oral care, or any of the sorts. So how important is it really? (Well to you guys in your experience)
