Guest... So far all of the things she'd told him amounted to the fact that she was trying to be less horrible to him than all the others in the past. She'd fed him, bathed him, clothed him, told him not to clean, and had kept a respectable distance from him despite the fact she'd walked in on him naked a few times, though that part wasn't so abnormal to what he knew from the past. She'd miraculously even told him to help himself to the food and to even buy food if he didn't know how to prepare it. All of these things... all of them, were slowly starting to work up an unhealthy dose of paranoia that was combating with his more reasonable senses. Was she really not trying to simply pull the wool over his eyes? Was she really trying to think of 'his best interests' because she wanted him healthy...? Or would she take it all back by the pound of his flesh, using it as an excuse to keep him longer...?

Thestal isn't sure what to think, but he knows that past experiences had taught him to always be on his guard. To never truly believe what someone else said. He recalls times in his past before hands had found him that men and women alike gravitated toward him, tried to give him nice things, to entice him to be theirs. And... Always it had ended in their obsession due to whatever curse he held. Obsessions that had led to him getting taken advantage of, and being told that it wasn't their fault but his.

But she cuts through these thoughts as she moves back in front of him, her hand gracing his chin as she forces him to look up at her. The contact causes him to grimace for a split second before he removes the expression from his face; he's not trying to be rude, but being touched... he doesn't like it even if she has been kind. And her words accusing him of lying, then talking about mutual agreement causes his stomach to flop slightly, his brows furrowing as she tells him once more that she wants him to be truthful with what he doesn't like. There's a moment where he actually wants to tell her the truth, that he doesn't want to be touched sexually in any capacity. That he hates pain and is frightened of it... but he wrestles with himself in knowing that it is simply not the answer she would be okay with. How could she be when she'd bought him at a flesh market and then told him she would hurt him? So, instead, he lets her whisk him off of the couch as he remains silent.

Up the stairs they go, and Thes does his best to take everything in as they go. When the room is presented, he stares at all the nice things within and especially at the books before soft blues sweep over the doorways she'd pointed out. He'd noticed the bathroom with the shower as well, the fact it connected to two rooms... and the loft. The loft is wonderful, and while he doesn't necessarily show it, Thes really likes the touches of plants. A lot of the places he'd been forced to go to before had them too, but they always seemed so... lifeless. Like the people didn't care about them, that they were simply there to make the place look more business or rich. These plants somehow felt more... loving? Or loved, he's not sure how to say it. but it feels... cozy.

Turning around as she explained everything, Thes actually feels a pang of guilt strike his stomach, and he worries his lips before he takes a step toward her before she can leave. "F...Fire... Things that are burning... Like c-cattle prods... And i-ice..." He's trying to tell her the things he absolutely cannot stand. Things that burn his flesh, and things that are so cold it seeps into his bones and is simply unbearable. Two extremes at opposite sides, and he hates both. Fire itself is amazing, but only if it's not touching him. Only if he's near it as a comfort, not as a weapon. "...Uhm... T-thank you M'lday," Because that guilt makes him want to show a spot of his own kindness, even if it is just by giving her that truth.

When she finally walks away, Thes turns to observe what he'd been given and... After a moment's hesitation, he grabs one of the books. Didn't matter which book, he simply wants to read. To learn about things. To know more than he already did. And once the book is in hand, he takes a seat on the bean bag and pulls the blanket around himself. He's still chilly despite the warm temperature of the place, so the blanket helps and offers a security he hadn't had in a long time. The book is opened, and he too begins to read.
