Daycare resisting BLW
Mostly curious if anyone else has ran into this issue before.
My son turns 1 on Saturday and we’ve been doing BLW since 6 months. He’s got a dozen teeth and molars and eats cucumber, toast, etc regularly. I follow solid starts as a guide and am trained in CPR and am aware of choking hazards.
We’ve been going to a sweet home daycare ran by an older African lady since 4 months and have provided purées up until 10 months or so after I got mastitis over the weekend because my supply got so messed up from feeding him solids at home and struggling to keep up with him at daycare. At that time he was being watched by her daughter at another location and it was no problem for her.
Fast forward to this morning as he transitions back to the older woman. Thankfully she’s okay with me providing softer foods like pasta, rice, berries, etc but proceeded to lecture me on the choking hazards. I can understand her stance from a liability perspective… but I know my baby best here. It’s just frustrating because now I have to be even more mindful of what I pack him for lunch as I’m pretty sure quesadillas won’t pass in her book.
Ugh. Anyone else run into these struggles before?
