Is PPA solar a dumb idea??

Having the benefits of solar is always a great idea. But since my credit isnt quite there. The solar people i wanted to go with recommended going with PPA. I looked it up and it seems like it would be no hastle on my end. Something goes wrong, they fix em. But i receive no credit, no nothing from electric company. I might even have to pay them each month. So has anyone gone this route?? or is this just a dumb idea??
