I enjoyed Dark Souls II, save for the Heide Knights, those little goobers.
I enjoyed the entire Dark Souls Trilogy actually. But just because my least favorite of the big three is Dark Souls II does not mean I dislike it or hate it.
But I do have an equal love and hate for all three of those games individually.

Slave Knight Gael
Based
Factually correct
Everyone loves Gael and so do I (most out of the three games).
Artorias, Fume Knight, Gael respectively
I liked how different ds2 was. Idk what they were smoking with some of their decisions, but honestly it was nice it wasn't just a copy/paste sequel.
I enjoyed ds2 on the 360, fuck sotfs, fuck all the heide knights, fuck iron keep
Yeah sotfs can suck my dick I never tried vanilla though so idk, I heard vanilla is still bullshit in some areas though.
Yes, but they made the ganking worse in sotfs. Also, they decided to spam the ever living fuck out of these dumbass statues that block your way and just for that I uninstalled and played the original.
"Just level up ADP, bro"
I always love that the charm of From Software games is that they make you want to destroy your belongings , kill the nearest living thing , and then transform into a missile launch up and die in a fiery explosion of rage and smoke

Homie you got anger issues

I do but I don't care I'm having fun!
I only feel that when playing multiplayer games, souls games are bing chilling.
In souls games I get frustrated from time to time, but when playing a game like Overwatch I burn with fury of the thousand suns. And I consider myself a calm person. Competetive multiplayer truly brings the worst in us.
Yeah for sure at times, I’m just being a goof
You can get into a kind of zen state once you get in the groove. That’s why I love twin stick shooters like Gungeon. Every moment counts , you end up having to hyper focus. Ever played Furi? It’s great for this.
Then there is like the descent into this pit of rage as the game fucking fucked me over on the same spot for thee hours, and I know deep down it’s a skill issue, but at the time it’s like the game purely hates me and was intentionally designed to make me suffer.
Dark souls 1 fans when they recklessly sprint through DS 2 areas, but instead of easily accessing the boss, they just get their shit pushed in by every enemy on the map.
Me not so long ago: Oh boy I can’t wait to play dark souls 2 on PC with a keyboard 😃
Insue: having to click on "Disable Double Clicking" option every time you open the fucking game
Seriously who thought of this shit?
Yeah I didn’t know about that feature so I ended up hitting the herald quite a few times when trying to skip her dialogue. Also I love having to use shift+click every time I want to open a door
“Man this game is really good, I wish there was a port of it that fucked up almost everything and added very little to remedy this”
Sonic Adventure DX:
I like Dark Souls II. The Scholar Of The First Sin edition on the other hand takes all it's problems and multiplies them by 100
I liked SOFTS, i'm about to get sacrificed ain't i?
Does anyone else think that DS2 is just sorta clunky/weird?
I haven't played the game yet so i could be entirely wrong, but from what i've seen online the combat, animations and general style of the game look clunky and slow, almost cheap. I feel like the game is in some sort of limbo between modern and old school.
Again, i haven't played it and i don't think it's a bad game, just the impression i got.
For me, the main problem is that it can't decide if it wants to be smooth or clunky. One minute, everything is flowing really well, the other, my character becomes a damn robot. It's still enjoyable, thought.
One thing is that the game has 8 directional movement. Most games have 360 degree movement (not sure if it's actually 360 but point is it's much larger for most games). So while in dark souls 1 you can rotate the thumbstick in a circle and your character will walk in a circle, in dark souls 2 your character will kind of 'pivot' to different points. This can make it difficult for precision movement like when you want to jump or move on narrow platforms.
Now in DS1 you could only dodge in four directions whenever you are locked onto an enemy, but each direction actually had a different animation. In DS2 you can dodge in eight directions while locked on, but each direction only uses the standard front roll animation. Which looks really odd.
There's also just some poor quality things. The sound when you roll is the exact same regardless of what you're wearing, whereas previously it was different depending on what armor you were wearing. Or how the sound quality is weirdly chunky.
The animations were apparently mocapped but I really don't believe that.
DS2 feels like a (admittedly high budget) fan game.
Dark souls 2 is fucking garbage and that's why I've beaten it 5 times out of pure spite
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?

Skill issue
Tbh, almost every issue in the souls series is a skill issue.
Also, happy cake day.
TAKE THAT BACK BUOY OR YOU AINT MA BUOY!!
its the worst out of the 3 but still an amazing game
r/shittydarksouls about to eat you alive
They are too busy jacking off to feet, I'm ok for now
I'm going to cause you testicular torsion and dark fog poisoning
Dark Souls 2 is not a bad game at all but the hollowing thing and dodges being tied to a stat was fucking awful
I actually just finished watching the H-bomb video on why dark souls is good, actually. And I agree with him so fuck you >:(
Dark souls 2 fans explaining why the 20th repeated boss is actually really important to the lore and themes
Something something lie remain a lie
I think it isn't bad at all. It's a lot different from the first one. But true.
Oh, for sure, just basic raging slander, I'm sure I'l see the charm once I get the hang of the game.
That being said, there are a few choices I actually can't really stand, glad they threw those away for BB and onwards.
Don’t forget to upgrade your roll for more i frames
See? This is exactly what I mean. Sure, every souls game has different features from each other, but why the fuck is DS2 such an outlier? I like power stancing, and life gems were a good basis for the healing system in bloodborne, but all the rest seems like weird shit that will never see the light of day again because of how inconvenient and/or outright bad they were.
That being said, this meme is 100% a shitpost and I definetively see the charm in DS2, even if it's the biggest almagamation of weird and occasionally useful features. Also, ty if this wasn't a joke btw
IIRC, michael zaki didnt direct ds2, which is why its so different
DS2 was made by the B team while the rest worked on blood borne, but the stat for your roll is agility. I believe it also lets you use items faster but don’t quote me on the second part
Everyone was like that at some point.
I liked dual wielding, it was one of the most interesting.
The invisible enemies mechanic was weird, but it made you look every nook and cranny, if you didn't already.
And like other souls, I get lost everytime without a clear guide.
I miss bonfire ascetics and Ng+ changes though
I think dark souls 2 is the easiest game in the trilogy, but it is also the one that killed me that most. Screw this game
I find that it is bad, by far the worse of the trilogy
It's a decent game but stands out as the worst by far compared to others in the series (I haven't played demon souls maybe that's worse)
