It was cold, windy, and raining but still awesome! Unfortunately I couldn't go into the superstructure of Little Rock since someone was filming for some Star Wars fanfilm.

It's a great museum isn't it? I loved my visit there way way back.

It benefits from having 3 different ships. Really cool to see how different each one is. Especially going from a cruiser to a sub and just how different it is to move through them.

I remember being so impressed with the size of the cruiser...imagine learning years later it was a Cleveland light cruiser.

Is the USS Sullivan's able to board again?

Yup! You start on The Sullivans and then they have stairs connecting it to the Little Rock.

Most late World War 2 era museum ships you visit will not be in the same state as you'll see them in game because the Navy kept them around for years, and in some cases, decades. The Iowa class battleships for example, were commissioned off and on through the eighties and have harpoon missile pods, upgraded sensors, and defensive countermeasures.

Other ships such as Fletcher class destroyers were rush built as tin can weapons and had designed service lives of around twenty years. No one expected them to be around as museums eighty years after construction.

Alabama is pretty darn close to her war outfitting because she was decommissioned shortly after the war, minus things that would make it unsafe for the public to tour.

Thanks for sharing sir! Really interesting to see converted cruisers.

If you haven’t already, you should def go check out Battleship Cove in MA. Touring big mamie is an epic experience.

Definitely on my list. Hoping I'll have time to see it this summer before I move. I got a tour of NJ by one of the curators (not Ryan) and it was really cool to see some of the closed off areas.
