Reminder, submissions for Copyright reform closing this Friday 16th November.

Copyright and the Digital Economy (IP 42)

The inquiry was primarily started out of concern that copyright law is not up to date with technological advances. Currently, they're asking for submissions on 55 questions. Have a good read of them.

It's an important inquiry if you're concerned about these topics related to Internet; accessing TV online without digital restrictions (Optus/iView controversy), want to store in the 'cloud' (Think Megaupload/Dropbox/etc), want to post copyrighted pictures on your facebook wall, data mining copyright works, viewing private submissions to the government, and a few more.

Here's a list of submissions so far. Most are copyright holders seeking to prevent government materials from being in the public domain (Q34 answers).

Not to be confused with Terms of Reference where they requested submissions on what questions should be asked of ALRC. I had discussed Terms of Reference before.
