First Time Fed! DCMA 2210 Timeline
I recently accepted a FO for a GS-12 2210 position with DCMA and wanted to share my experience since it sounds like mine was unconventional compared to others. This is my first fed job and only like my 3rd fed application overall. This job was actually posted as a GS-11/12 DHA position and I found it on LinkedIn.
2/6 - Resume submitted through LinkedIn easy apply
2/15 - Received an email from hiring manager requesting a phone call. Called that afternoon and had a fairly informal call (wouldn't even really call it an interview) just talking about my current job, the position, the agency, some chit chat. I was told they needed to formally submit my resume and that they would contact me again.
2/25 - Hiring manager let me know that my resume was approved and to continue to stand by.
Over the next couple weeks, there was some back and forth dialogue with some random questions from both sides, as well as status updates. I had assumed that they would be setting up a formal interview, but I learned they were actually filing new hire paperwork during this period.
4/4 - TJO was received and accepted. Found out at this time that I qual'd for GS-12 which was a surprise.
4/6 - Security specialist contact with EQIP info.
4/10 - EQIP submitted
4/18 - Fingerprints delivered to agency.
4/19 - Interim Secret granted, also contacted same day to set EOD.
4/20 - FO received and accepted.
5/8 - EOD
Almost 3 months exactly from application submission to first day which is pretty awesome! When I submitted my EQIP, they told me they estimated it would be around 2 months for that and it was barely a week. I did previously hold a clearance and had no major red flags so I guess it was no problem.
But yeah, pretty excited to have landed this job. GS-12 is a significant pay bump for me and its telework (current job is 100% in office). Hopefully this post helps someone!

Congratulations! I just submitted my Eqip yesterday for a GS-12 position. First time Fed also.
Any idea how long it takes to receive the e-quip email? It’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard anything yet
Mine is a little bit different. I applied through a job fair and got a tentative job offer right after the interview and this was April 11. April 13, i did my fingerprints. The following week which was week 17-21, I did my onboarding credentials where they ask to fill out for W4, bank info etc. After i’ve done those, I got the PSI email, a few days after that is when i received my eqip (April 25) and submitted on the 26. Now, I am waiting what else I need to do. My school have yet to transmit my transcripts next week. (This is my timeline).
I was contacted 2 days after I accepted my TJO. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
