We were doing so well....
So, my May teaching schedule is a bit bonkers (full time contact - in class hours - is 17 hours/week...I've got 27/week in May). But, it should be doable - I start at 8am every day, I'm out by 3:30 every day except for Wednesday, which is staff meeting and that's 5:30. Kid goes to aftercare, hubs picks up on Wednesdays. I go to work, hubs takes kiddo to school (no drop off before 8:15, and it's the opposite direction from our house than my school).
Which is great. Until hubs' boss drops a 10 day work trip on him - left Thursday night, gets home Sunday evening.
Well...F&ck. Mornings are going to be hell. But... I work it out. Monday I can do the drop off (we have a late start at my campus), and I've got a complicated drop off and carpool schedule with a couple of class parents who are going out of their way to help me out.
So... Monday. Kid and I prep the night before - instrument by the door, lunches made and in the fridge, clothes laid out, bags packed. We get up, get dressed, have breakfast, pack lunches in bags, do teeth and hair and we're out the door on time!
I get kid to school, unload kid, instrument, bag of stuff for Spring Festival, kiss the kid, and off I go to my multiple hours with 22 very checked out Seniors. Sounds good, right?
Except you know what WASN'T in that list? Kid's backpack, with lunch and water bottle. Yeah....still sitting by the door when we got home. Not my finest Mom moment.
Tomorrow is another day, right? Right?
