Argon8x Fatar tp/9s question

I just bought this synth and the main issue I have with it is the keybed. The black keys feel incredibly stiff and heavy to press down on which makes playing kinda difficult. Even when playing them at the very front they're still quite heavy and going up even a little makes them even more so. Certainly doesn't have the fast playing feeling I've always heard about it.

Is that how it's supposed to be or do I have a faulty unit?

You did pull out the foam protector strip?

Foam don't reach the black keys but yes, I did.

it will become softer over time

That actually makes it even worse imo.

Doesn't matter really, I'm gonna return it anyway. It's been such a disappointment from the moment I first played it. If it's a dud, then fine but if that's how it's supposed to be? They really ought to remove the "premium" label from those keys because they don't feel that way at all.

Wow... I didn't have that problem with mine. I loved the keybed.

I wouldn't describe my keys as "stiff" and it never felt like I had to work hard to play them. They definitely did have more resistant travel than other keybeds I've played, but that actually helped me more accurately play expressively.

Fatar just might not be for you?

This one definitely ain't for me. I don't mind weight to my keys, the two boards I bought before this one were semi weighted (one of them also a fatar though a different type) and they were pretty fine to play. The white and black keys felt the same when played. But on the argon, the white keys are so noticeably lighter than the black ones it's just off putting. And the whole keybed feels weird and uneven in terms of weight.

I'm gonna take this one back, it just doesn't feel good to play. Left me too disappointed.
