Obsessed with timers

Hi! My son is 4 and is obsessed with time and watching videos of timers counting down. Or numbers counting. So much that he gets exreamly upset if he has to stop. He will grow things and hit. I would think it's boring for a kid to watch a 30 minute timer count down. He only gets a hour of screen time a day so when the tablet is gone he will take a dry erase board and start making a timer. Ive tried setting a alarm to help with the transition. If I take away the tablet am I being too much. I'm at a loss.
