Any tips I should know?
I've been playing around and just recently got to Urban Legend but I'm getting my ass handed to me by Grade 8 Fixers. What are some tips that I should keep in mind?

A slightly later on tip:
Reading is pretty important, :> don’t be like me, there are two incredibly powerful early ish passive that you can get.
Remembrance and Kitzuna , their effect last a whole act.
Got it
Pray
Two things that helped me take control of fights:
A couple of question:
(lmao sorry for the wall of text)
1: look through key pages; they display your speed dice roll ranges. Equip ones accordingly (I, personally, like to switch them around people, as I like to switch floors for each battle just to whoever I feel like using). You can change key pages by clicking on a librarians key page, when highlighting them in the general game overview or pre-battle. Be warned, each "deck" is tied to a key page, even the base ones, so I tend to just unequip all pages before I switch key pages. (You get key pages from burning books; you'll get the key page of the enemy who's book you burned; it's not guaranteed, but the "drop chance" is usually pretty good). BY THE WAY, keep an eye out for passive effects, on key pages, that say like +1 speed dice; they give you an extra speed dice to use whenever you have someone equipped with that key page. That means you'll be able to queue two pages, each turn, in combat (though, you don't have to use them both, every turn, if you don't want; appropriate page costs will still apply; no discounts for multiple page uses). The dice roll range listed on the key page applies to each speed dice the key page allows for. Each dice has its own roll, too, so your speed dice will usually each have a different roll (like, one might roll a 5 and another might roll a 3). Side note: individual emotion level, which you can check by clicking a character in combat and look at where it usually displays team emotion level, has various effects at different levels, and at level 4 that character gains a free extra speed dice (regardless of if it's an enemy or one of your librarians).
2: Hmm. I can't remember exactly which to look out for, but I'd just suggest going back and looking through all the battles, checking the decks of each enemy, keeping an eye out for the ones you like. Fight those again, and burn all but one of each book type. Ultimately, I'd just suggest you get a good stock of all cost level pages, with varies page effects. I can't really suggest any specific pages for the early game, but defensive pages were really useful (for me) in those early levels, however successful offensive clashes are really good, too.
Thanks for the answer. I forgot to equip key pages lmao 💀. I'll probably just set 5 main keypages to swap around.
Lmao that'll probably help. I'd suggest focusing on both useful passives + good resistances. Later on, you'll get some freakishly strong ones (and ways to increase their strength), so that's a good plan to prep for that, too.
Kill one grade 8 get their book use it against their own.
Are you burning your books to get Keypages and Combat pages? Are you equipping them? Is your deck balanced so that you have a good spread of low cost and high cost pages?
well, read
I think the main tip everyone came up with is reading and I really think tht this is the most important thing in the game. This game has a lot of mechanics and they are very complicated. Read what? Read passives and cards. Passives are one of the most important things in late game. And one more thing: rng in this game is not that valuable that it's seems to. Most rng in this game is controllable and you can manipulate rng using strength buffs.
P. S. If you have any questions about game mechanics- feel free to DM me.
Yeah, I knew I had to read, just didn't know whhat exactly. I've been doing pretty well so far after reading passives and what pages the enemy will be using. I still have a bit of problems in deckbuilding bit I think I'm getting the hang of it.
Few things about deck building:
Sorry but I'm not familiar with smoke or solo builds
My bad. I forgot about urban legend, I thought it's about urban nightmare. For urban legend: just use the strongest cards you have and you will be okay. It's just the start of the pain and hardcore. Olga page and Mars page are pretty nice tho.
Nobody asked but I answered xD
It's ok
Try to pinpoint where your skill issue lies:
Both, I don't understand some mechanics and my deck is probably not good, I'll try to check some guides
Adapt to enemies. For example, to defend yourself, if enemy uses a lot of blunt attacks, equip char pages that have blunt endurance. And to deal damage, if enemies are weak to slash, take some slash combat pages.
That's the most basic stuff. When you get further into the game you'll understand it more and find new tactics, but for the beginning - that's enough.
I do the "use attack type that the enemy is weak to" mechanic but first time hearing about pages that give type endurance. How's that work?
Key pages all have their own damage resistances.
