Moving from flowback to offshore production?
I've been in flowback for a few months in south texas. This is my first job in the industry. The company I work for is smaller. And they have me looking at working 48-50 weeks out of the year. I don't mind the 12-14 hour days, but I'd like to get a better schedule for time off to see my family and travel. I'm thinking I'd like to work on getting a job on a production platform.
Any advice for making this transition? Has anyone else made this move? Which companies would you suggest applying to? Gulf of Mexico VS North Sea? Pay rate on land vs offshore? I currently make about 3700 after tax every two weeks, which is not as much as i was promised by the owner.
Thanks for the responses.
