Newb here: I need to build/buy a small consumer audio device that plays a random sound whenever the user does something in my SAAS app. Where do I start?

How to manufacture my product?

Total newb into manufacturing hardware. I don't even know if this is the right place to ask.

Basically, I built this SAAS app that rewards the user with a visual cue whenever they do something. I want to now build a small audio device that sits on their desk that plays a short audio sound whenever they take a specific kind of action.

Some criteria for this device:

Must have...

  • User must first setup WIFI credentials (I assume via USB or onboard WIFI)
  • Volume knob on the device
  • Device plays a random sound from a collection of sounds
    • Either stored in the device or gets the sound file over wifi (less ideal)
    • Audio library is auto-updated from the website from a set of sounds they choose

Nice to have...

  • Battery indicator or warning light
  • Physical mute button (toggle)
  • Battery operated
  • LCD/E-ink screen that shows a counter indicating how many rewards they achieved today. The counter resets at midnight (their local timezone)
    • Device lets them scan through previous days
    • Device has a digital clock with day/time

Any insight you can provide would be great. Thanks!

UPDATE: Responding to the bot

  • Product dimensions and tolerances - no idea. Something similar to a Bluetooth speaker.
  • Product materials - no idea. See Bluetooth speakers as an example.
  • Desired production quantity - 5 devices to start for my beta test group. Maybe up to 100 order quantity at most, once the bugs are worked out
  • Total budget or cost per unit - has to be consumer priced. So you can consider Bluetooth speaker pricing as the price range
  • A sketch, technical drawing, or other visualization - nothing yet
  • Where the manufacturing should take place - no idea. China I assume, but if I can do it locally that's great as well (Vancouver, Canada)
  • Which methods you've already considered, and your thoughts about them - I assume there must be some devices that I can buy off the shelf and configure for my needs. Or at least something very close.
