Question

I just started a few days ago. But it looks like there isn't anyone else on whatever server I was put into. The guilds seem barren and any ally requests I've sent show the people have been offline for years. Is this normal and I just need to find an active guild? I know the game is older but I thought I'd see more activity than this.

get a better guild, your best bet is to join one via these discord servers though there is a sub-reddit for recruiting too:

swgoh reddit discord: https://discord.gg/jPJ9FZQ

ahnaldt discord: https://discord.gg/ahnaldt101

swgoh recruitment discord: https://discord.gg/tcAJG4Tp

swgoh events discord: https://discord.gg/swgoh

these are the bigger ones out there though im sure there are more

100% this, it's about just looking in the right place. Be lying if I said the game was as active as ever, but it's still very much alive.

Alright, thanks everyone! I'll dig around for a better guild and start adding some allies! I appreciate everyone's responses

SWGoH.gg alone shows 9600+ guild’s registered, lots of options

I think the ones you're talking about are the "suggested allies" you can pick when going into battles. Those are for some weird reason almost always inactive accounts, don't even bother sending them ally requests. If you are indeed in a guild (they unlock at level 30), you can check the members' activity on the guild screen: on the members list, you can select Last Activity on the second drop-down.

You’re in a starter guild, which is basically players that don’t play. Join a real guild, then whenever you need to play the next level of guild events, leave and find a better guild. If you repeat that process, when you’re past level 85 at some point, you’ll find a good guild that you grow with and can stay in for a long time.
