2019 Malibu Tail Light Fuse Location

Repair Help

Engine Compartment Fuse Box - Fuse number 22

The box has it listed as "Parking Lamp"

I wanted to post this here as a PSA because I had a bitch of a time figuring out which fuse this was and none of the forums or YouTube videos I found knew either.

My Malibu has LED lamps and both of the tail lights were out. Considering the average life span of an LED, I found it super unlikely that both LEDs just went dead at the same time so I wanted to start with the fuses. Neither the owners manual nor the fuse box panel listed tail lights which is just super annoying. So after I wasted 2 hours on the internet to no avail, I started pulling random fuses. Eventually I found #22 was blown and when I replaced it, the tail lights worked again.

So I hope this post finds its way to anyone else having the same struggle I did.

I was just working on my 2005 Malibu, and talking to my dad. My dad had never heard them called Parking Lights ether.

It would have been sometime in the 90s when I last seen a fuse marked as Tail Lights. Some brands may still do, just not the ones I've worked on. I'm sure it will change to something like Running Lights in the future.
