Starting a PBP; advice?

So I’m starting a play-by-post game for my family via Discord with the hopes of just creating a setting where they can really immerse themselves in the scene and just play as their schedules allow. It won’t be in sessions per se, but over a longer course of time.

Have any of you done this? What worked and what didn’t?
