old dell xps core i7 windows 8.1, can I use this for anything

came up on a laptop thats pretty old just ordered a charger but wanna know if I can possibly use it for gaming if not what can it be used for. if it can be used to game im considering giving it to a kid that cant afford a pc but could use this for gaming or maybe school. better used to make someone happy instead of sitting around or a server I dont really need.
