What is this??
Hi. I struggle with what I'm assuming to be auditory hallucinations. However I think it could be linked to something else.
I've spoken to my therapist about it so not to worry.
Basically. I'm a very paranoid person. Believing I'm being watched, followed, judged, spied on, or surveillanced is common place. Sometimes I'd see or hear things that weren't there, but that was when I was younger and it wasn't common back then.
This has been going on for years but hasn't been a cause for concern until about last year, maybe two years ago.
It's just been getting worse I guess?
I'm very paranoid now, a little delusional. And lately I've been hearing things.
Breathing behind walls. In through the nose, out through the nose. Heavy. And occasionally feet shuffling.
I've checked to see if it was my own breathing, and held my breath, and I still heard it.
Usually I'm alone. And when I hear this breathing it triggers panic attacks. Anxiety attacks??
I dunno.
But I'm convinced someone is there and they're going to try and hurt me? Grab me? Run at me? Not sure.
But I know they want me.
For around 2-3 years it was just the feeling of being watched or followed.
Then it progressed and became seeing shadowy figures or something like that. Feeling like someone's looking at me over my shoulder.
It's like a part of my routine now to feel like I'm being watched.
Now I'm hearing things, and it's getting more common..
It's affecting my day to day and I don't really know what to do?
Is this mild schizophrenia?? Is it just some form of extreme paranoia??
I'm not sure.
But it's getting annoying.
