Long term & short term power tweaks on Z790.

Build Help

MSI Pro Z790-A Motherboard

I have the machine built and its humming along and wow does the 13900 crank out some heat. I was doing some handbrake converting video and its doing 105 average fps as compared to my 8700 thats struggling with 29 fps.

System was cranking at 170w at the time, that seems like a lot.

CPU Z had 13900 performance at 16500+ vs 8700 at 3000.

I went into the bios to 95w for long term and short term power limits. This still seems to score higher than the 12900k on benchmarks with no power limits.

Benchmark dropped from 16500 to around 12600

Should I set the short term to 125w and the long term to 95w?

Its unlimited?? on the k chips, but I think it tops out at 253w but the performance gain takes more and more power for small incremental increases.

Where can I get more information on tweaking over-clocking settings?

Thanks in advance.
