AITA for telling my sister just because she has autism does it mean she gets to be a dirty bitch?

Not the A-hole

A little context, I recently started sharing a room with my little sister. My parents wanted to move to a better neighborhood so we had to downsize a little. I honestly didn’t mind it at first because we now had a in ground pool. Anyways the thing I was least expecting was my sisters tendencies to be a dirty bitch who doesn’t know how to pick up after herself.

At first it was leaving her dirty laundry all over the floor, when the laundry basket was literally right there. Then it was leaving food everywhere. That’s where I Drew the line, there was absolutely no way I was gonna let that slide. So the first couple times she’d eat in our room I’d make sure after she was done she’d bring it downstairs like a normal human being.

But then she started eating up there either when I wasn’t home or doing something else so I couldn’t get at her for it. So basically she’d leave it for me to find . So when I had just gotten back from a trip to Kentucky with my friends. I was gone for a good week and I came back to food EVERYWHERE. In her bed, on her nightstand, and on MY dresser.

I was fuming at this point, and I full on called her a lazy fucking slob. Our room was literally growing an ecosystem with all the moldy food. Yes moldy, and her only excuse is was her high functioning autism made her do it. That’s where I lost it and told her that “just because you have autism doesn’t mean you get to be a dirty bitch” while grabbing cups of mold and random plates with deteriorating food.

She lost her shit over this calling me a ableist while giving me her sob story on how she has no motivation to clean up after herself. I told her her no “motivation” was pure laziness while still picking up her mess. At this point my mom got involved because we were low key in a screaming match. Where she sided with me and told my sister she needed to grow up and clean up after herself. After everything was over with I confided in one of my friends about the situation to where she

Sided with my sister, saying I was too harsh especially with her having autism even if it was high functioning. She also went on to say I should’ve been more worried than angry. That’s where I decided to come here and see if I was actually the asshole here, so AITA?

Info- I’m 15 she’s 14 I meant doesn’t mean in the title 😭😭 auto correct is smth else
