[UPX] We should start asking beyond A2 cars issue
As a guy who's been reading on Urban Planning in free time, am I the only one here who notices?
"Unfortunately, as engineers, planners, and advocates try to repair the mistakes of the 1960s, and build the cities of the future, there’s a growing trend that could undo all that hard work: the growth of SUVs and light trucks.
I really don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that if there’s a positive goal that cities have for the future, SUVs fight against that. They’re just… bad for cities. Really bad.
If you’re walking and you get hit by an SUV, you’re 3 times more likely to die than if you’d been hit by a regular car."
"SUV owners are more likely to be bad drivers...car companies paid millions of dollars for market research to find this out.
People who gravitate towards SUVs tend to be less confident in their driving abilities, and rely on the large size of the vehicle to keep them, quote unquote, “safe” … at the expense of everyone else."
