what is the point of living if life dies.

First of all, I want to clarify that I am not contemplating suicide, so please don't worry.

Throughout my life, I have gained knowledge and experience. I have felt love and hatred, caused pain and found healing. I have faced setbacks but also overcome them. However, I can't help but feel that all of these experiences are ultimately insignificant because they will be forgotten.

I understand that life can seem meaningless, and I don't believe in the existence of a higher power that created us all. As humans, we have always sought purpose. We have created religions independently across the globe, each civilization having its own concept of a god. We yearn for meaning. But if meaning is something we create ourselves, does it mean that it doesn't truly exist?

For a long time, I have been searching for meaning. I have tried various pursuits such as making music, succeeding financially, and developing artistic skills. I have even tried loving someone. Yet, everything I do feels pointless.

I have been emotionally numb for over four years now. I haven't even reacted to the deaths in my family. While I don't feel the desire to continue, there is a part of me that wants to find some rationale behind all this absurdity.

There are moments when I can experience joy, like spending time with friends and family or achieving success in something that interests me. However, I always return to this state of feeling nothing, observing myself and others, and realizing that in about a century, everyone I know and will ever know will be erased and forgotten.

So, here I am, writing this at 4 am. Now, I have some questions for all of you reading this:

  • Have you found a purpose? If so, how did you discover it?
  • Why should I care about others and myself?
  • Is there a perspective or way of thinking that I haven't considered?
  • Do you believe in any form of a higher power? If so, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on the purpose of life.

That's all from me for now. I suppose I will go to sleep. I will check back on this post in a few days.
