My friend got me an iPad Pro 11in 2022 and I'm debating returning it and getting a Samsung Tablet

My friend recently got me the iPad pro 11in 3rd generation 2022 worth 800$ as a gift and I'm tempted to ask him return it for a Samsung s8/s8+. He's totally ok with it but I just wanted feedback.

I have a Samsung/android/windows ecosystem and have a strong preference for samsung. Open source apps and customization are a big deal for me. I previously had a Samsung S7+ but lost it. While I had it I absolutely loved it. I think the size was too big for me so I would probably go for a S8.

With that being said, would it be worth holding on to the iPad until the s9 series comes out and then trade it in/sell it to get the new Samsung tablet?

Would it be better move financially to stick with the iPad since it's higher value (800$) than exchange it for the S8(600$)?
