Thanks for the help, I've fired my first shots!
Hi everyone,
You were all helpful in narrowing down my search for a .22 rifle as my first gun, and after waiting for the 30-day buffer after moving I'm happy to say I'm the owner of a Bergara BXR and fired my first shots!

I accidentally bought supersonic ammo because it's all the LGS had at the time (CCI Blazer, should have been obvious from the name...) so I didn't fire more than 15 rounds or so, but I drew some targets on a ceiling fan box and had a good time learning to zero my scope (from a bipod with no bag, like the noob I am). I got kinda close before I decided to stop for the night, but it was a lot of fun!
I got a few failures to feed because it looked like the rounds were sticking in the Bergara magazine a little, but I didn't bring the spare Ruger mag it with me to test that theory.
I noticed a couple things I'll need to work on are positioning the stock correctly (it always felt kinda small, unless it possibly is for my build) and learning how to properly look through a scope. I moved the score all the way forward in the rings, but I seemed to have trouble getting the target to stay sharp in my vision even after messing with the focus. I'm looking forward to putting more time in and learning, though!
