The type II supernova in M101 along with some of the best weather we've seen in 6 months inspired me to set up my gear again after a long break. My lack of practice came back to bite me, and I had trouble getting the guiding and tracking dialed in, so I was only able to get about 3 hours of data (349 * 30 second subs), and I was only able to get about 2 hours worth registered for alignment (245 subs).
I've come to realize that the guiding camera I have just isn't up to par with my scope, but I've already ordered one with a much larger sensor for next time. Hopefully being able to track more than one star at a time in the guide camera will make things smoother, and I can get more reliable integration time in the future. I'm tired of looking at all that noise from the DSLR i've been using...
Equipment:
Celestron EdgeHD 11" 2800mm F/10
iOptron CEM70G
Canon EOS Rebel T3
Celestron OAG w/ QHY5L-II-M
Acquisition:
245 x 30s lights @ ISO 1600
30 Darks
30 Flats
30 Dark Flats
30 Bias
Processing:
Calibration done with PixInsight WBPP, failed on the registration
Brute forced registration using StarAlignment
Integrated with PixInsight ImageIntegration, w/ LocalNormalization and DrizzleIntegration afterward
I was very excited to discover PixInsight has a Canon Banding Reduction utility, so no more ugly banding ( I swear one of these days I'll buy myself a proper astro camera)
Crop and plate solve
Dynamic Background Extraction
Spectrophotometric Color Calibration
RC Astro BlurXterminator and NoiseXterminator did a very good job while it was still linear
EZ soft stretch
Finished with some histogram transformation and color saturation adjustment

was any processing done to this?
Yep, hit post by mistake before I finished typing everything out.
