Defining Books of the Decade, Part 1: 1810s
The is hopefully just part one of a series of discussions that will go by decade all the way up to the present. This is meant to be an in-depth discussion, so please be open and honest about what you think. You can talk about any or all books you've read from the featured decade, why you did or didn't like them, and any other points you want to make about the books or the era as a whole. I'll try to make a new thread everyday, but it may end up being more like every couple of days.
For most threads, I'll start off the discussion by talking about my favorite book from that decade, but I haven't read any books from this decade yet, I'm sorry to admit. Maybe you could recommend me some good ones. Some major works from this decade include Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, and The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss.
