Little did you all know, Corrin and co study the art of foam!

Enemies in CQ just get knocked out from pure shock at such child's play!

Apparently weapons of war just can't kill people for 60 percent of CQ. This on it's own isnt bad. Even 3H and Blazing Blade adopted this. The latter of which came before Fates.

What is an issue is that it just works without fail. I can accept at least one, maybe two fights where they managed to not kill anyone. But all of the fights where they chose to be pacifists???

That's ridiculous. There should be at least a few accidental casualties. Highlighting that Corrin is indeed noble for doing what they are doing. But they and their army aren't perfect at pacifism either.

Sorry but when I sic Nyx and Odin's explosive magic, I dont care what explanation you give, that person who was at the end of their wrath should be ashes or a mutilated corpse beyond recognition.

I think most people would be accepting of this if the route allowed for deaths to happen in those chapters.

Rather than the Kitsune massacre, or when the pirates invaded them, or when rouge Hoshidans kidnapped Azura, anyone they fought and killed in paralouges, the mokushu, or in the chapters starting from Takumis final living appearance onwards.

I imagine that Corrin's army does have accidental causalities, however they keep a large hidden supply of Bifrost staves to use on their foes immediately after they killed them. Said foes are confused on what just happened and decide to just walk it off. As for the Kitsune massacre, I guess the army had supply issues with the Bifrost staves and ran out by the time they got there. The secret supply would also explain how Corrin's units can come back to life after taking fatal wounds in Phoenix and Casual difficulties. If this all sounds illogical, I would like to point out the magic plot crystal Azura she pulled out of nowhere on this route.

with the kitsune thing... I guess, when they start "reviving" them, they would starts attacking them again. would be a waste of bifrost staves, if you revive someone and they start murder you again

Conquest was my first fire emblem game (I am new to the series, I start playing FE games half a year ago, when I buy 3DS, because I want try some exclusive titles before 3DS eshop shutdown) and my most favorite yet.

For me personally I really enjoy this "non-lethall" war. On the oher hand in most of RPG I just play "goody-two shoes" characters and avoid killing most of NPC (except of really evil one).

But back to FE:C. I know that objectivly it's one of the things that hurt writing of Conquest really bad. So I understand why for almost all other players is this sore spot.

But like I say, I am quite new to the series and play only four games (Fates - Conquest and Birthright, Awakening, Echoes and 3 houses) some mayby I would like some of older games more than Conquest.

By the way if you know any other games where main character spare 80 % of enemy army (beside Conquest and Suikoden IV) please let me know.

Idk what the direction is with corrin being a pacifist when so many people in conquest are perfectly okay with murder if it helps them with their goals.

Off the top of my head, Jakob, Keaton, Beruka, Peri and Ophelia have supports in which they non-chalantly talk about killing while under Corrin's employment and his dumb management style.

Haven’t played Fates, how does this mechanic work? Because it sounds like it could be really cool

Sadly it's not a mechanic. The closest you would get is Thracia 776. Where you can capture units to take their stuff and let them go after defeat.

In Fates you have a character named Niles in CQ who can capture units to make into potential playable units. Another character named Orochi does this too in BR.

This joke is in reference to the fact the characters in Conquest largely dont kill anyone...with weapons that should eviscerate them but dont...somehow.

This makes me want to try a challenge playthrough of lunatic where I can only use the joke weapons like the Parasol, the Chopsticks, or the Hoe

Look at casualty rates of medieval battles. Rates of 10% where common and we talk about people trying their hardest to kill. An army that try it's hardest to NOT kill, can probably get them very close to 0.

Conquest has many problems but that is actually more realistic than how Hollywood would make you think. Kinda how retreating to your base after a battle is more realistic than Blitzkrieging a country in 3 months, but people act like 3H is the unrealistic game about it.
