How do company owners react to our advices here?
I've been getting messages left and right about how our suggestions here are affecting them.
CO: You're not helping the economy recover! Just making them poorer with unemployment because they don't want to accept our offer Even if it's competitive enough.
me: Was it really competitive or competitive in your view alone? I mean if you're just offering 15k for an IT fresh graduate but others can pay 25k, good luck!
CO: F**k you! You're not helping small business owners become successful because you're increasing our employee costs!
me: Then you should have worked harder to fund your employees better. Because am happy to reach out to them and telling them how they got lowballed. Wait, what are their names again?
CO: <blocked>
And another one...
CO: We all get it that people are wanting a salary increase against inflation. But you know the costs have inflated as well. We are having a hardtime getting people on board because their salaries are beyond our reach and we just can't afford it. Can't you just tell them to start considering us for the time being?
me: Dude, I am a business owner as well. You know better that inflation is part of it. Sure it's had insanely inflated, but it only means there's something wrong in your business model. Because even I was affected by these inflations, I don't complain since our finances can take the hit.
CO: <blocked>
There are many more, but there are just too many foul words said. Should we fear losing jobs from them? HELL NO! Here's the thing, they are just a small fraction of the jobs available in the market. So removing them from the competition also helps us achieve our goals. The goal of getting a competitive salary.
Then again, it wouldn't help everyone if you guys don't upskill to match their job requirements. As one said...
CO: Been reading your advices and we're glad that community is doing it. We wouldn't be able to get a competitive talent after giving him/her a competitive salary because it's hard to get such oen after interviewing thousands. Hope there are most skilled applicants as we still need more...
And if you'd be asking what company would this be, I can't disclose as it will risk doxing me out.

Last CO makes sense. I hope his business is successful, and our upskilling efforts eventually do find a match just like he did.
That said "upskilling" is easy to say, but often employers don't really buy the "upskill" and will still require experience. Have applied to several jobs with skills I learned by myself, made a portfolio for them, but because I don't have "professional experience", the application is immediately rejected.
