Can you verify if a payment was sent to friends and family or for goods and services?

Help

I wanted to dispute a payment because I never received the fees. Paypal's automated system is claiming that I didn't get purchase protection. It's an international order from the US to the UK. I know I checked this 5 times to make absolutely sure that this was going to be protected because I've had issues with the seller in the past and they (paypal) claimed I sent it as a friend previously.

Now as I'm looking to make a dispute, it's not giving me the full set of options and I'm trying to figure out if there's anywhere that I can see if those protections were there.

It was also weird because looking back through everything, this is also the only payment I see that was made where I didn't get either a text message warning or an email that the payment was made, so I'm wondering if it might have been some kind of system outage/problem at the time.

Anybody know if there's any kind of receipt or proof for this?

and I'm guessing that I somehow didn't click the "send me the automated text and emails you send on every transaction" for just this single payment? Despite getting those notifications every time I send money either to friends or to businesses for every other payment I've made.

That means you sent it as friends and family. F&F payments can only dispute as unauthorized transaction. If you paid as g&s, the transaction details will have a “Need help?” section, mentioning something about buyer or purchase protection which will be hyperlinked to the protection terms.
