Late to the party, as I just saw the announcement for Ange Unite a few days ago. Very much looking forward to it! As it's a rerelease of the TCG as an ECG, some changes were necessary gameplay-wise to fit the release model as well as just to improve upon the original design from their past experience running the game.

Main changes seem to be as follows:

-Smaller 43 card deck, of which 12 are generic resource "frame" cards, so basically 30 actual cards which is good for an ECG.

-Your 3 "start" cards which begin the game in play determine what colors you can play in your deck (5 available same as MtG) which leaves the deck construction more openended—also especially beneficial for an ECG.

-Instead of gaining a resource as a facedown card off the top of your deck every round, you accumulate them by attacking. They can be discarded to pay for cards or other effects, but you may also discard cards from your hand equal to the cost to play a card (frames count as 2). This is a more interesting system of resource management than the TCG had for sure.

There are certainly many more smaller rules changes. I've linked a full rules summary including images of all the cards used for the test play event.

Additionally, although the game is an ECG, I'm intrigued that they will be offering a collectable element still. I'm guessing something along the lines of foil and alt art variants sold in separate packs. This seems like quite a smart model.
