I thought the gif and video of the man having a fatal stroke were shocking but relatively tame in the reddit scheme of things. What is the most horrific thing you have seen on this site and more importantly how did it affect you.
For me it was a video posted several months ago of a young man in Syria who had his jaw blown off by government forces likely using a high powered rifle at close range (can't find the link but I'm sure the reddit fairy will drop it at some point if this thread catches on). The man was still alive, for the moment, and the look in his eyes still haunts me. The effect on me was that I now feel emotionally invested in news which is unfortunately easy to ignore on this side of the world. Seeing just one vivid example of the atrocities was enough to bring it home for me.
TL;DR Saw a video of an atrocity in the recent Syrian conflict and now follow the issues unfolding there much more closely.
