People's thoughts on OKC?
I was wondering what this community thought of OKCupid with regards to finding friends and potential poly partners.
I'm fairly inexperienced in the area of looking for partners outside of my marriage and I figured that the OKC community would be a fairly straightforward way of locating women who share the same outlook on relationships and the wife and I. We're in our mid 20s in the SF area, which as far as I know is supposed to be really open to the whole concept. I doubt you'd be running around bars looking for potential poly-partners, but perhaps I'm totally wrong here. On OKC I make sure to emphasize the importance of open relationships and non-monogamy in my profile and set the expectations very clearly (no bait-n-switch!). So far not much has happened, I haven't been able to locate someone I've been interested in or the other way around. I'm wondering what kind of forces are at work here: is it just that we're very few? Is the usual "online" situation where even in the poly world, men vastly outnumber women?
I'd be really curious to hear what your experience with it has been and what conclusions you might have come upon after giving it some time.
Thank you, r/polyamory!
