Everyone due around me is having their babies, and I am just sitting here gestating.... :( a tiny rant
38 weeks, 4 days...Hope no one minds if i vent a bit! I have a contraction every time I pee. I have a bowling ball between my legs when I walk, and nearly 7 lbs of baby fully engaged is not easy to walk around with, let me tell you. Turning over during the night produces an almost audible crack from the front of my pelvis, the doctor said I have symphisis pubis dysfunction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphysis_pubis_dysfunction). Good for labor, not so great for the lead up time! Yesterday I simply turned my torso around to look behind me and had a GIANT cramp in my back that I had to pause and let relax before I could move again. Thanks relaxin! I also have strong period like cramps several times a day, but never close enough together or able to be timed. I can no longer bend around the bowling ball I have inside my bump, though it is pretty funny when he shoves my thighs from my tummy. These are just a few of the things that are making me miserable... I know they are all signs I will be having this baby soon, and once he comes they wont matter anymore, but ARGH!!! I just want my body back, even if it is different then before. I have gained almost 50 lbs this pregnancy and I feel like a completely different person.
Last week I was 80-90 % effaced, 3 cm dilated and very very low station. She even said paper thin membranes, and that any good start of labor would push me over. I guess my body is super good at holding in baby despite signs of imminent labor. I am so super excited for all the ladies having their babies right now but I WANT TO SEE MY LITTLE MAN SO BADLY!!! Knowing that he looks like he will when i get to hold him, but he is hidden inside my bump is driving me a little crazy honestly! The doctor said the last day I can go without an induction is christmas day, and I am due on the 12. I doubt I will actually make it to the 12th, but I still can hardly stand the wait! It has been a long 9 months (severe hyperemesis for the first trimester, a move across the united states in the second...) and now that I am on the cusp of it being over it's hard to be patient. I am drinking red raspberry leaf tea and taking evening primrose oil to try and keep things soft, and taking walks as often as I can, plus my man is helping out as much as possible. I sit in suspense, anxiously analyzing every braxton hicks and contraction and hoping this is the start. By the time I do go into labor I am pretty sure I won't believe its actually happening!
Well, that's my rant. Thank you for letting me get it out, where I know people would understand. And I do want to throw out a big congratulations to my due date buddy, Iluvjly, for having her baby! I am so proud of her, and excessively jealous.
