Thinking about buying another AR, need advice.

Here's what's relevant: I used to live in Missouri while I was in the Army and I owned a Double Star Corp AR and it was lots of fun, I never had a problem with it. When it came time to deploy I had to sell it because I'm from Massachusetts and I couldn't bring it back home(had too many evil features). Now that I'm finally licensed and living back in Massachusetts I'm looking to buy another AR. The local gun store doesn't have a very big selection to choose from, and outside of them there's Dicks Sporting Goods and Wally World. One of the rifles they have in stock caught my eye, a Stag Arms model 8, gas piston 5.56/.223 with the typical MA ban mods. The other options are the S&W M&P15 Sport and a Lewis Machine and Tool CQB. all three are very different in price, ranging from 650 for the S&W to 1700 for the Lewis Machine. The model 8 stood out because of it's gas piston set up and a median price while having all things the MP15 doesnt IE a dust cover, and forward assist. This is where I need your input I can't dredge up any useful user info about the Stag Arms rifle and If any of you can help me out with some info I'd appreciate it. The rifle's primary use will be plinking and maybe some light tactical drills and training.
