I expected a lot of lore in 5.1. Am I missing something?

Let me start by saying that I have a lvl 90 alliance character and I was kind of lazy with leveling my 85 hordie. So, it is possible that I am missing something because I play alliance at the time. I heard that there is going to be a lot of new lore with regards to Anduin, Varian, Jaina, Thrall, Vol'jin, etc. So far I have only done few quests in Krasarang and got the fleet there. I met Varian, saw him finally finding Anduin, did a pretty underwhelming scenario where Tyrande is told to shut up once again... and thats it. Nothing else happened. Where is everything else? What was supposed to happen to king and his son? Where are trials of the High King? Where is Vol'jin and Thrall? Do you find them only if you play horde? I would appreciate if you don't just give spoilers, but rather point in the direction where to find them in the game.
