No 'poo, SD and me.

TL;DR: Trying to switch to a no 'poo method after a year-ish of x2 per week washings max. Hair is thick, long, and frizzy. Eczema-like scalp condition is making this very hard - I'm DYING over here from itchiness. Links to hair (not eczema-y scalp, lol) pics at the bottom. Help!

Hair info: Recently sacrificed my virgin hair and went a pretty cinnamon-y red. Elbow length. THICK. Curlier in some spots than others, overall mostly a wave. Probably curlier if I could actually get this no 'poo method to work for me. Very frizzy if blown out, no matter what products I use or what I do, always have to go over it with a flat iron or curling iron to get it back under control. So I always save blow-outs for when I actually want straight hair or if I want more defined curls than air drying gives me.

So I can't remember exactly when I started cutting hair washing with 'poos from daily, to every other day, down to twice a week.

To summarize what I've been doing over the past year -

Tuesday and Saturday are wash+condition days. Every other day it would get thrown up into a bun to keep it from getting wet since my hair is IMPOSSIBRU to detangle after being wet with no shampoo/conditioner and all I was doing was breaking my hair and making it a smelly mop if it got wet with no intervention.

Fast forward, my scalp has acclimated well to the minimized washings. Current products are Malibu vegan color-safe shampoo, which I've found to be VERY drying to the point I'm about to toss that $14 into the bin and go buy a different 'poo, and an Infusium conditioner, I think it's the repair/renew one.

I'm going on a full week with no-'poo and I'm DYING over here from scalp itch. Like, I'm really trying to not scratch lest I end up with a big sore on my scalp. Dr. gives me a steroid drop stuff when it gets super bad.

Last wash with 'poo was Nov 24th. Did a co-wash on Nov 27th. All was ok. Did a co-wash yesterday, Dec 1. Now at a point my scalp is itching so bad it woke me up several times over night last night.

I need help getting this itch under control or I'm going to have to scrap no 'poo and just deal with frizzy hair. I can't use tea-tree oil products, mildly allergic so it just makes the itching even more unbearable. Should I be co-washing more frequently? Switch conditioners? Treat it as this too shall pass as my scalp acclimates and try to suffer through it? I'm sure I'm not the only reader of FF to have this issue so I'm hoping for some help!!

Pics for reference-

Predye, blown out and ironed smooth

Postdye, same as above

Old pic from about 2005 but the best one of my natural hair texture that I can find, roots are flat from being in a pony-tail all day
