[Build Help] Reviving an Older Laptop: Worth it to upgrade or just replace?
I currently have an unused HP Pavillion Dv6 from my college days that I am considering "reviving." It has the following specs: -25g Hard Drive -GeForce GO 7400 Video Card -1GB RAM (2x512MB) with a max of 2GB -Intel 940GML Core Two Duo
I'm looking into adding a 120g SSD, upgrading the RAM to the max (2GB) and buying a new battery and power cable in order to make it functional again, but the upgrade costs are nearing $120.00 or so at this point.
-Is it worth it to keep throwing money into the dated technology, or are there comparable laptops I could buy for under $300.00?
-If I did upgrade it, would the existing video card and CPU support light gaming on low settings such as WoW, Minecraft or LoL?
I know I can cut costs by not getting a SSD, but truthfully I really want one. Thank you so much in advance for any feedback you can provide on upgrading or comparables. This is my first post, so I apologize if I'm not using the correct formatting or etiquette. (I did read the FAQ!)
