Birth control question!

So I have been on birth control since I was 15. I got on it because my periods were way too heavy and too much cramping. I went on this b.c. called lo ovral. It helped me with my period but I gained about 50 lbs in over 2 years and was told to lose weight, which I have.

Lo ovral was recalled about a year ago. I had to switch to some other birth control, I really forget the name, but had a horrible experience with it. I was hungry all the time and eating way too much, I would cry over the stupidest things when stressed out, I would get painful acne on my face all throughout the month. The only thing I liked about it was my period last 4 days and it was over. On lo orval it lasts about 5-6 days. But anyways I got back on Lo ovral...

But now Lo Ovral won't be available at all anymore. I just started this new pill today called Kariva. I looked online for reviews and saw many people were getting headaches, and lots of weight gain. I know the pill is different for everyone and I'm probably being psycho about this whole thing. I just am really traumatized by what happened with that other birth control. I seem to only break out on the Lo Ovral during my period and the rest is just little pimples here and there that I can get rid of before they become too bad. It just sucks because I've never had a problem with Lo Ovral, but it kept getting recalled I guess..

I'm not interested in the birth control that works best or worst against pregnancy. I have a bf and use a condom every time..I'm just more looking for something that will help my skin and has the least bad side effects.

Anyways, anyone have any good experiences with any birth control? I don't want to do the shot but worst case scenario I might do the IUD, but those kind of freak me out and the NuvaRing does too....
