Should we be worried about all of the people who believe the world will end on December 21st? Could there be mass chaos?

Is it likely that there will be a great number of people freaking out on December 21st, perhaps even days before, going ape-ship and causing mass chaos all around? in other words Reddit, are we, the reasonable people, possibly in danger in the upcoming weeks because of this idiocy? Should we do anything to prepare to keep ourselves and family safe, in case people do cause chaotic riots, raping, pillaging, etc?
