Canned Coconut milk and Guar gum

Hi all,

Quick question. All of the canned coconut milks in my super markets contain, at a minimum, the good stuff then Guar Gum as an additive/stabiliser/can't remember exactly.

How much of an issue is this? What're the benefits and drawbacks to guar gum and should I be worried or just grab the stuff?
