Certification spending: What do I do?

Right now, I'm saving for an LA-80. Or Rocket Pods for the reaver. Both cost 1000 certs, and it seems like it takes eons, considering I'm not the best FPS player around I earn about 10 certs per hour (Platoons blah blah capping things takes ages and we def a lot) which is fine, but feels really... demotivating to do for at least 2000 certs (in the long run)

My dilemma is that I really want to spend my certs on cheaper things, but it feels like I'm wasting progress, and don't have any money to spend on SC to just buy the weapons instead of grinding.

tl;dr Want expensive things, no money for SC, grinding seems to take ages, is it worth it?
