So I was talking with my boyfriend last night...

And I came up with the theory that patriarchal societies like our own is a result of men realizing that women are actually more self-sufficient than men and being threatened by that, thus the need to control us (and he mostly agreed with me).

It's a huge generalization, obviously, and there are a number of matriarchal societies in the world still today so it's not, y'know, rock solid. Hell, maybe it's downright stupid.

My main point is; men are fully aware of womens' qualities and that it would be possible to have a female-dominated society...we'd just need men for sperm. It is nice to have some variety...I get a little crazy from estrogen poisoning without some male contact. But women are capable of subsisting on their own, whereas I'm not sure that men would be able to.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just an idiot.
