Any love for non-flashy drummers?

IMO, Max Weinberg and Ringo are the best well known drummers out there but they don't get much love. What gives? I find the Peart and most drummers with 7+ piece kits sort of masturbatory. I guess it all depends but I would like to hear the opinions of drummit. Keep holdin' it down my fellow drummies.
